To maintain its sanctity, adherents often follow the principles of Vastu Shastra. However, many unknowingly make a common mistake of keeping a matchbox in the prayer room. According to Vastu, this seemingly insignificant error carries serious implications, attracting negative energy and misfortune.
While incense sticks, lamps, and candles, often lit using matches, are integral to many worship rituals, storing a matchbox within the prayer room is inadvisable. Vastu Shastra suggests that flammable items in a sacred space can cause Vastu Dosha, a disharmony that reduces positive energy and diminishes spiritual benefits.
This belief stems from the association of a matchbox with fire, a powerful element symbolising destruction and instability. Keeping it in the deity’s room, it is believed, can disturb the peaceful and pure atmosphere, potentially leading to financial difficulties, mental unrest, and hindering the benefits of prayers.
Impact Of Keeping A Matchbox In The Prayer Room
According to Vastu, extends to both spiritual practice and personal life.
