What to buy for your house this April, according to our style director
House & Garden’s Ruth Sleightholme rounds up the most beautiful things to shop this April, from a perforated table lamp to a new paint collection. Whether you’re looking for beautiful objects or brilliant ideas, a scroll through our gallery will offer inspiration in abundance.
The Art Deco movement can be traced back to April of 1925 – 100 years ago this month – with the Exposition des arts Décoratifs et Industrielle. We celebrate this rich look with a mirror embedded with semi-precious stones, geometric patterns, and pieces from Maison Lelou, a design house that traces its roots to the art-deco era, and is now run by the great-granddaughter of the original designer Jules Lelou.
Magnus Long’s cross leg chair comes in six high-gloss colours: we love the idea of using all six, and pulling a primary-colour scheme together around it, softened by the textures of wool buckle, a modern yak-hair rug, and ottchil lacquer accessories.
