As a manager, I dreaded Madewell’s biannual Insiders Event. The storewide sale, which is open to anyone in the brand’s free loyalty program (you can sign up here!), was chaotic. Lines were endless and it was only a matter of seconds before the stack of T-shirts I spent half an hour folding became completely undone. But now, as a shopper, I totally get the hype; who wouldn’t want to get Black Friday deals in March? 

This spring’s Insider sale is finally here, and almost everything is 25 percent off, including typically excluded items like new arrivals and leather accessories. So of course I sat down at my laptop and went shopping. Out of more than 600 products, I found 14 styles I’m thinking of grabbing while they’re marked down. The Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Crop Jeans

I’m incredibly picky about jeans, but Madewell’s lineup has always impressed me thanks to the consistent fit (it’s one of the few places I’m not a different size in every silhouette) and soft, durable denim. These wide-leg jeans, which are designed to look lived-in, just shot to the top of my spring wishlist. I really like the style’s slouchy, relaxed fit, raw hem, and vintage-inspired faded blue. Plus, there’s a tiny bit of stretch.

Single-Breasted Scoopneck Vest

This button-down vest is one of my favorite items at Madewell right now. That checker print, reminiscent of a picnic blanket, is made for spring. And while that pattern can lean kitschy, it doesn’t here thanks to the elevated silhouette it’s paired with; the style balances playful and sophisticated expertly. You could dress this top up with black slacks and heels (I’d recommend a pop of red) or wear it with your favorite jeans for a cute, everyday look.

Bubble-Sleeve Bomber Jacket

I still need a light layer for spring, and after seeing the Bubble-Sleeve Bomber, I think I found my one. The zip-up khaki bomber is the coolest version of the classic style, and it’s all thanks to the trending bubble hem and sleeves. But despite giving the jacket a fresh, cool look, those voluminous details don’t impede the style’s versatility; it’s still a wardrobe basic, just not quite so basic.

The Ophelia Slingback Flats

These green slingbacks are actually my favorite thing I discovered while looking through the sale. That’s probably because they look a lot like Prada’s satin mules—just, you know, in my price range. The square-toe flats provide the perfect pop of color and, thanks to the satin’s slight sheen, look really expensive. These shoes can elevate everything from a simple black dress to jeans and a white tee.
